The M.S. degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Environmental Geosciences was designed for students interested in graduate study of a broad cross section of the geosciences. It is a 30-credit hour, non-thesis program offered both on-campus and online.
Many graduates pursue careers as environmental geologists, hydrologists, geographical information systems (GIS) analysts, remote sensing specialists, petroleum geologists, educators, and more.
People who are fascinated by nature and passionate about conservation find this a very interesting degree.
"I chose Distance at MSU because of its flexibility. As an active duty member of the military, it's not feasible for me right now to pursue my Master's Degree in a classroom. Rather than put my career on hold to attend graduate school in person, MSU offered me the opportunity to further my education while continuing to serve. Distance has all the advantages of a phenomenal institution, transplanted into my living room. Go Bulldogs!"
