Boost Your Career's Bottom Line
Mississippi State’s Adkerson School of Accountancy delivers online graduate classes that parallel on-campus classes, leading to the same graduate degrees in accountancy. Taught by MS State faculty, who have won awards for their innovative teaching, both the Online Master of Professional Accountancy and Online Master of Taxation programs maintain supplemental accounting accreditation from AACSB International.
The Adkerson School of Accountancy combines general, broad business and accounting education into a specialized curriculum designed to meet the greater demand for accountants, stemming from developments in information technology, increasingly
complicated taxation and governmental control measures, and a growing awareness of the need for accurate control methods in existing businesses. The Master of Professional Accountancy and Master of Taxation programs prepare students for new CPA exam and for positions in public, private, or governmental accounting. The Adkerson School of Accountancy updated its curricula to emphasize technology skills relevant to data analytics and to give students the tools needed to remain at the forefront of the accounting profession. The changes include integrating data analytics content into current courses, adding a data analytics course, and providing a minor in accounting data analytics available to students completing either program.

Testimonial

As the fields of business and accounting evolve, it is our job to equip students with both the foundational concepts and the modern tools they need to be at the forefront of their profession. Our updated accounting curriculum and new online offerings are two great examples of how we are doing just that. I am excited that we have expanded access to our world-class educational offerings through the online Master of Taxation and Master of Professional Accountancy programs.

Dean of the College of Business

We believe there is significant interest from students who cannot come to campus to complete the graduate accounting or taxation programs for a variety of reasons. The Adkerson School of Accountancy is at the forefront of re-envisioning how graduate accounting education is delivered.
